Every figure here is a gynaecology specialty average published by NHS England for the whole specialty, not a figure for endometriosis or any other single condition, and not a prediction about your own wait. Under NHS patient choice rules you may ask your GP practice to refer you to a different NHS provider, and if you have waited more than 18 weeks without treatment starting you may request an alternative provider. The request is yours to make, by notifying your commissioner or asking your GP practice.

Providers you may ask for can include independent providers holding an NHS contract. On NHS England's published figures for gynaecology, the independent-sector range of median waits sits above the NHS trust range at both ends, so choosing an independent provider is not choosing a shorter published median.
