NHS waiting times ranked by provider, England
Providers ordered by the median wait NHS England publishes for them, longest first, from the May 2026 referral to treatment publication, as of 31 May 2026. Each specialty is ordered separately, because a median for one specialty and a median for another measure different things. Every figure is a specialty average for that provider, not a waiting time for one condition or one person.

How this page is built
Scope: NHS England's Consultant-led Referral to Treatment Waiting Times, Incomplete Pathways by Provider publication, for the four treatment functions we ingest. The edition shown is May 2026 data, as of 31 May 2026, and it is frozen at a dated URL on ingest.
Method: the ordering uses NHS England's own published median column. We recompute nothing and estimate nothing. NHS trusts and independent-sector providers are ordered separately, because they are published separately and are not comparable with one another. A provider is ordered only where NHS England publishes a median for it and it reports at least the pathway floor carried in the edition.
Limits: a median is a specialty average across every condition treated in that specialty, so it does not describe any one condition, any one clinic or any one person. The bars draw the same published medians as a share of the longest median in the same table, and are not a figure in their own right. No figures here for Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, because this file covers English providers only.

NHS England cardiology waiting times, May 2026 data, as of 31 May 2026. 118 NHS trusts ordered by published median wait, longest first. Longest published median 18.7 weeks at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. Shortest published median 4.8 weeks at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. That is a spread of 3.9x. Each figure is a cardiology specialty average for that provider, not a waiting time for one condition or one person. This comparison describes NHS trusts only. Only providers with 500 or more incomplete pathways and a published median are compared. Source: NHS England, Consultant-led Referral to Treatment Waiting Times. How current this is meant to be
NHS England publishes these figures monthly, roughly six weeks after the end of the reporting month. The newest edition we hold is May 2026. We expect the June 2026 edition to appear on that rhythm, and we check the NHS England landing page for it rather than promising a date we do not control. If this page still shows the May 2026 edition more than about eight weeks after the end of May 2026, treat it as unverified rather than current and email hello@finallyseen.org.uk. Frozen editions never change and carry no verify-by date: they are the record of what was published that month.
